Development of a new pediatric surgery department in Casamance, a region where children must travel more than 500 km to access specialized care. The department will include an operating suite with two operating rooms and a recovery room, a 26-bed inpatient unit including a 3-bed neonatology unit, a 3-bed burn unit, and a 6-bed area for children.
The department will also feature a play area for children, a rest area for caregivers including a kitchen and sanitary facilities, as well as a training and simulation center for pediatric surgery professionals.
