
Pascal Hundt
Vice-President
Pascal Hundt joined the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in 1996 and held various positions in Rwanda, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Congo-Brazzaville, Afghanistan, and Central Asia. He then served as Head of Delegation in Somalia, Jordan, and Sudan.
From 2012 to 2017, he was Head of the Assistance Division in Geneva, overseeing, with his teams of experts, ICRC programs in health, economic security, water and habitat, and weapon contamination.
After a mission as Head of Delegation in Afghanistan, he took on the role of General Head of Delegation and Senior Crisis Manager within the ICRC's Operations Directorate starting in 2019, providing managerial and strategic support to delegations facing complex crises or serious security incidents. In this capacity, he notably served as Head of Delegation in the Democratic Republic of Congo, the Central African Republic, Somalia, Syria, Head of Mission in Nagorno-Karabakh, Head of Delegation in Ukraine from early March 2022 to October 2022, and again in the DRC in 2023. He was also deployed to Gaza in 2023 and 2024. From July 2024 to August 2024, he served as interim Director of Operations.
Pascal Hundt has a medical background, complemented by postgraduate studies in development and international relations at the University of Geneva.
